"My name is Nicola Bale and I want to share my experience of the Phâro Sugaring System with you all. I am the biggest wimp ever when it comes to having waxing treatments done. Silly I know considering I am a qualified beauty therapist who carries out waxing everyday in the salon!!!! I only get waxed when I REALLY have to because of a couple of really bad waxing experiences that severely traumatized me.

Given my experiences with waxing I was very wary with statements like ‘if you can wax you can sugar using the Phâro system’, or that with Phâro there was almost NO after pain, burning or redness of the skin. "I really wanted to know if Sugaring was up to 75% less painful for people, so I asked for volunteers to have one leg strip waxed and the other sugared. My volunteers where prepared to give their video testimonial for a free wax, their video comments where edited and uploaded in my own youtube sugaring testimonial video. I tested both strip wax and sugar on a range of people including first time waxers, seasoned waxers, sensitive skin sufferers & men with more coarse terminal hair. The most rewarding experience from sugaring is being able to offer hair removal to people who normally can't tolerate strip waxing due to sensitive skin. "We are taught at Elite that our hygiene standards are to be impeccable; that means decanting the wax, cleaning all equipment, and removing the hard stuck on wax from the roller head with a citrus clean solution. The clean up time is lengthy, sticky and requires gloves to be worn to protect against the harsh citrus clean. As a student learning to strip wax I can't count the amount of gloves I went through because I would place my hand where the wax was and end up with sticky gloves. The gloves can be cleaned off with teatree lotion but that's more product, more money, more consumption. The clean up with Sugaring is simply water. Just that - water and a cloth! The roller heads are placed in a warm bowl of water and the Manuka Honey, which smells divine, just dissolves off. I then sterilize the heads and they are ready to use within half the time I would have spent citrus cleaning. The rest of my Sugaring equipment wipes off clean and so easily.
"I'd love to see the Phâro Sugaring System used in our Elite campuses and become part of our client night treatment selection. Sugaring is reasonably new in NZ with salon's just starting to stock and offer the treatments, training student and offering Sugaring treatments at Elite would create an edge, more clients, and post graduate students with an extra skill to offer to a future employer.

"I had a look at the Phâro Sugar Wax because I was finding my existing hot wax extremely expensive. Eighty percent of my waxing is Brazilian. There is a lot a competition between salons as I have five beauty salons directly around me. So clients are always looking for the best deal. I had to get the cost of my Brazilians at least $15 cheaper than elsewhere without compromising on quality. Phâro was that wax that could do that for me. I can get at least 20 brazilian waxes per 700ml pot and each wax takes between 10 to 15 minutes in time. Since switching to Phâro sugaring my clients have noticed that their skin is far less irritated after a wax and the ingrown hairs have reduced significantly, on some people even stunted their hair growth. "Valerie - had a underarm hot wax treatment and the therapist that performed the treatment burnt my skin - the wax was applied too hot and skin was red and bleeding - after not had a wax treatment in the past three years I decided to try the sugaring system at Monique's Beauty Boutique - what a difference - firstly the sugaring was warm on the skin not hot at all - the sugaring was applied and pull off quickly and not much pain.
